About the project  
GOeureka is a travel technology company that uses blockchain technology to build a hotel reservation platform.
The hospitality industry is the second largest contributor to the global travel industry and is currently dominated by online travel agents. OTAs generate about 70% of online hotel bookings, which has had an impact on direct hotel bookings, profit margins and loyalty programs. GOeureka wants to change the scenario by giving priority to hotels and customers. Using blockchain technology, GO plans to take advantage of hotels and customers by introducing commission-free bookings, accepting merchant-free cryptocurrency payments, and transforming traditional loyalty programs. GOeureka aims to create a new symbiosis where hotels retain control of their brand while creating value for consumers on its platform. GOeureka’s vision for the future of the travel industry is a supportive online ecosystem where all businesses have the opportunity to thrive and take advantage of the best products or services available to travelers. As a technology partner of the hotels, GOeureka intends to provide a seamless web and application experience to users without the high commission structures imposed by current OTAs. The company said it offers an affordable and efficient platform for hotels and consumers to engage directly and interact with each other, eliminating unfair commissions from OTAs that reduce hotel margins and increase consumer prices. These benefits are then passed on to customers. GOeureka also introduces a patent-pending re-booking feature for customers to achieve the best value for money in rooms. When the price of the hotel drops, The renewed booking feature automatically detects and reserves an existing reservation at the lowest rate. In addition, GOeureka offers an interoperable loyalty program that will benefit hotels and customers by promoting the hotel’s loyalty program with the ability to convert hotel loyalty points into GO credits that can be used on the GOeureka platform. For consumers who subscribe to multiple loyalty programs, the GOeureka solution for an interoperable loyalty program could facilitate instant redemptions and the exchange of multiple loyalty point currencies on a single platform. The blockchain acts as an immutable and secure book of all transactions related to issuing GO credits, creating a transparent and verifiable supply of loyalty points without the need for intermediaries, the company noted.

The growth of online travel agencies is a perfect example of how new technologies can disrupt an existing industry. These online agencies have a huge advantage over normal hotels because they are able to offer consumers low prices and more options. However, it is not quite rosy for the online travel agency; the traditional hotel sector is slowly adopting online technology. However, these hotels are still lagging behind. They must work faster. Otherwise, the intermediaries who put them in contact with the customers could start to earn more. The GOeureka team thinks they have found something that will give the hotel an edge over the agencies. To do this, they decided to supplement the existing loyalty programs with blockchain technology. The goal of the GO project is to use the blockchain to create a symbiotic relationship between hotels and customers. Hotels will retain control of their brand while customers will get more value at the same price.

Hotel loyalty programs for GOeureka with blockchain
If a hotel wants to integrate, the GO ecosystem will offer an API where a hotel can associate its inventory with the reservation system. Guides will be offered to the hotel’s IT department to ensure seamless integration. Go will also integrate with a hotel’s property management software through strategic partnerships. One of the problems that GO will solve will be disconnected loyalty programs. Today, every airline, every car rental service and every hotel will have their own loyalty program. This makes it difficult for ordinary consumers to accumulate enough points to earn significant rewards. An integrated loyalty program powered by the blockchain is the future. Go will create an interoperable program powered by this technology. Users will be able to convert hotel loyalty program points into GO credits. With this system, loyalty points earned by a car rental service can be converted into GO credits. This can then be used to pay for a hotel room.
