Different types of mining methods can have a significant impact on public health and the environment. Erosion of open storages, mine dumps, hillsides and the subsequent silting of streams, drains and rivers can affect neighboring areas. Mining around agricultural land can destroy or disturb cropland or productive pastures, while in desert areas it causes disturbance or destruction of ecosystems.

Each carbon leaching tank has a screen to hold carbon.
