TERAWATT – Global LED Adoption Through Blockchain
In the early 20th century, people used candles or fire as lighting. Now, people use lamps as interior lighting for buildings and exterior lighting at night. A lamp is a device that produces visible light from an electric current and is often known as a light bulb.
The last technology of the lamp is the LED (light-emitting diode) lamp. The LED lamp is a substitute for previous lamps, namely incandescent light bulb and fluorescent lamp. LED lamp provides many advantages over other lamps, the main advantage is cutting electricity usage by 85 percent. The use of the LED lamp will save the cost of electricity bills for users and reduce electricity usage which means reducing greenhouse emissions. In addition, the LED lamp also has a lifetime of use of up to 5 years, and provide better light quality.
Terawatt is an Ethereum blockchain-based renewable energy project, focusing on global monetization and adoption of LEDs. Terawatt will create DAO and the global payment currency.
DAO is the latest generation of organizations that allows companies and organizations to operate without hierarchical management. DAO uses an intelligent contract Ethereum to make trust agreements without the need for intermediaries. DAO collects funds from investors through Token Sale and investors receive tokens from their investments. Tokens give the holder the right to vote on what the organization will do.
Terawatt Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO)
Terawatt DAO is a decentralized autonomous organization that functions as a bank or collection of funds for electricity companies and all businesses to have access to funding LED sales subsidies to their customers. DAO can also help businesses and everyday consumers to finance the cost of upgrading existing lighting to LEDs. Participants in the Terawatt DAO ecosystem are utility companies, LED bulb sellers, businesses, consumers, and token holders.
Terawatt DAO aims to enable utility companies, businesses and all people around the world to help each other buy LEDs, thereby reducing everyone’s electricity bills, saving the environment, and encouraging the adoption of LEDs. To achieve this, Terawatt will partner with some of the largest utility companies, utility commissions, and lighting manufacturers (such as GE and Philips).
Everyone can add funds to DAO in the form of Terawatt tokens and participate in DAO. The supply of Terawatt tokens will decrease because 50-75% of the company’s profits will be used for coin burning. This program will increase the investment value for token holders. The benefits of the DAO can then be used to provide subsidized LEDs, to fund other green projects (solar, wind, electric vehicles, etc.), or to buy LED lights. Terawatt will also offer incentives for participants who verify LED purchases or sales or related technologies.
Terawatt tokens will be implemented on the Ethereum Casper Network using Proof of Stake (PoS). This consensus method has many benefits over traditional methods and keeps the environment clean and green. Terawatt tokens are utility tokens and can be used for DAO, payment methods, incentives, data storage, and masternodes.
